Today the campaign to save Milton Country Park collected 46 petition forms from pupils at St Philip's Primary School, Cambridge bringing the total number of people who have signed the petition to 10,030.
The petition at St Philip's was organised by two eleven year old pupils in Year 6, Chloe Cooper and Siobhan Sheridan. "When we heard the park was going to be closed we wanted to do what we could to help stop it as it's a lovely place" they said.
Receiving the petition form on behalf of the campaign Paul Oldham said "I think this shows how well loved the Park is by all age groups, from youngsters like Chloe and Siobhan upwards. We've been overwhelmed by the response to our petition and we hope that the fact that over 10,000 people have signed our petition sends a powerful message to the council".
